KALI/ ESCRIMA/ ARNIS
Kali, also known as Eskrima or Arnis de Mano, originates from the Philippines.
It is a weapons-based martial art but also has boxing and kicking skills.
The basic drills and skills can be developed by any individual, enhancing upper body tone and speed.
The footwork and training methods develop a free flowing expression, while remaining highly effective as a martial art and self protection tool.
The training weapons are stick (rattan 28" to 30" long) and short and long blades.
There is also an empty hand aspect to Kali which is derived from the blade. Upper body aspects are called Panantukan and the kicking art is Pananjakman. These are taught as an addition to the other arts and can help in understanding angles and strikes.
We train safely for the sacredness of life - not the risk.
